Sorry, it seems we have the dreaded "
Dear Cyan Media,

Your application Voice Controlled Alarm 2.1 is requiring unexpected additional time
for review.   We apologize for the delay, and will update you with further status as
soon as we are able.

Thank you for your patience.

Regards,

iPhone Developer Program

This seems to mean it is with their legal team, and will take ages before we get a response.  We had the same with iHearU - it was 2 months before they got back to us...

Appologies for the delay.  We are also about to release 3 new clock faces also...c'mon apple - or they will just be on WCA  Angry

Recieved an update from apple.  Not sure if its a go ahead, but this is the message:

"From: Richard XXXXXXXXXXXXX (name removed for the guys privacy)
Date: 27 April 2009 16:54:36 BST
To: hello@cyandesign.co.uk
Subject: Voice Controlled Alarm

Passes on iPhone OS 2.2.1 & Mac OS 10.5.6.  Verified items in release notes.

No Private API's found.
"

Not convinced it is even meant for us - the app is still not approved.  It does prove, though, that apple IS checking developers are not calling functions in private APIs.

we responded to this email, and this is what we got in response:

From: Richard XXXXXXXXXXXXX@apple.com
Date: 28 April 2009 15:02:01 BST
To: hello@cyandesign.co.uk
Subject: Re: Voice Controlled Alarm

Hi,

Please disregard.

Thanks

Richard

Yeah, and thanks to you Richard!  We guess he sent it to to the wrong people - should have gone to legal team, maybe?

Still no indication from apple and version 2.2 of WCA (the free version without voice control) has now been approved.  This has 3 new clock faces, which wont even be available on VCA 2.1. Sorry for this, maybe write to apple for us!

We have had email from others requesting richards email!  Maybe we should publish it, if he doesnt give us some more information! Wink

Will write another mail to him, with some specific questions...

/Nick

had a phone call from our richard guy from apple (on 06/05/09).  2 issues:

1. We mentioned OS3.0 support in our release notes
2. Wording of an error message on ipod touch (we said "this device does not understand this phone number" - apple want "

Made the changes and resubmitted....

Yay, 2.1 is now released today!  Still a version behind WCA, but hey.

Apple also now require 3.0 support!  We had this rejected because we mentioned 3.0...bloodly hell this is frustrating...

Youre high.  VCA was a hellhole.  Maybe you had your head too far up the staff members asses to notice.
